Trash to Plaque

  Overall size of each plaque is 22" x 8".  The cable is an actual
cross-deck pendant that I had cut into short lengths.  After 100 traps
the cross-deck pendants are stripped from the arresting gear and
discarded due to structural fatigue.  This sounds like a perfect
opportunity for me to make trash into a neat plaque!

  Initial sawing of the dome and plotting out the names.  Notice the
lightweight honeycomb material.  It always amazes me how big heavy
airplanes are all made of individual components that are very fragile and
lightweight.  Somehow, Grumman Ironworks glues our airplanes
together and it tips the scales at 55,000 lbs!
