As an artist, I am very fortunate,  for I find the inspiration for the things that I paint and draw all about me in my workplace.  Strangely enough my interests revolve on three cornerstones.  First is the strange properties of light and how we perceive what we "know" is truly there, relative to objects in the world about us.  Next, is that airplanes don't let you down - they are honest about what they will provide as long as you listen.  Finally, I am a 'tinkerer', if it is mechanical I want to figure out how it works and why.  That makes aircraft, and painting/drawing them, one of my ultimate interests.

I have been drawing aircraft since as early as I can remember and I started oil paintings about 18 years ago.  Unfortunately, my workplace does not always allow for the opportunity to paint, so graphite has been my staple when at sea.

I received an Honorable mention from the Naval Aviation Museum, but I have not entered many art shows. so I don't have a list of places where my work can be seen.  I do have paintings inside CVN-65 elevator (2 deck to the O-2 deck), various Naval installations & private collectors (or should I say my drinking buddies from around the world).

I  enlisted in 1989 in the US Navy as a Nuclear Electronics Technician and left the service as a Second Class Petty Officer in order to pursue a college degree.  This culminated in my commissioning as an Ensign in 1995 after receiving a B.A. in Physics from UCLA.  I received my wings as a Naval Aviator in 1998, became an FRS flight instructor for the Grumman E-2C Hawkeye and I'm still active Navy.

Waiting for starts to be called,
somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea
Other Activities :  Sail boats, kayaks & sail planes - that covers my other relaxing activities.  Hum, seems to be a pattern here - either it's floating or flying!  Somehow drinking the "blue stuff" with JD, Bag, Terry and the Bears and surviving!  Losing everything that I own in nearly every port that we hit.  Getting put in HACK and then sent to Corsica!  Making it through Tailhook with Spig - +........lots more.
← Yes, my airplane is ugly & has propellers.
                                      I like it!
